Yin Yang Fish
This mural was made by local artist Liz Franklin and four young European Voluntary Service volunteers from Austria - Paul Steixner, Max Obernauer, Stephanie Micheler and Miriam Kaserer - who spent a month helping Rame Peninsula Beach Care on a beach-cleaning and awareness-raising project in October 2015.
The design highlights the contrast between the natural, organic life of the sea, and the tide of plastic pollution that is fast overwhelming it. Since plastic does not biodegrade, the amount of it in the sea is growing all the time.
Yin Yang Fish is on display in the entrance to the Canteen at Maker Heights.
